This Session Theme
“Renew a right spirit within me…”
Our Law of God lessons for the week will examine the story of the world – Creation, Fall, Redemption and Sanctification – as described in the parable of the Good Samaritan. Lessons culminating in the life guided by the Holy Spirit in the Church will then transition to a focus on the ways things can go wrong on the physical, mental and spiritual levels. A panel of clergy and mental health professionals will address camper questions about the complex interplay between brain chemistry, negative patterns of thought, mental illness, the passions of the soul and demonic influences, and the way that spiritual guides and mental health professionals can each be of service to the struggling Orthodox Christian.

This summer St. Jonah Camp will be held at Camp Copass located at 8200 East McKinney Street, Denton, Texas 76208
Campers Ages
Youths of 11 – 18 years old are welcome to join the camp. Please note, that all campers will be held to the same behavioral standard regardless of age. If you will be 18 by the first day of the camp you can join us as a CIT (Counselor-in-training), but you can remain a camper as well. Please see Camp Participants Registration page for details.
Activities
- Orthodox learning and praying: morning and evening prayers with Gospel reading, Law of God sessions with priests), Liturgy;
- Outdoor activities: pool, rope course, canoes/paddleboats, playground, campfires;
- Sports: mini golf, basketball/volleyball (pavilion), human foosball, frisbee disc golf, tetherball, gaga ball, sand volleyball, football/soccer/softball field, nine- square-in-the-air
- Indoor activities: games, craft projects, movie night.
- Camp favorites: campfire picnic, talent show and cooking contest!

Scholarships
The summer camp scholarships can be granted to the families who are having financial difficulties to pay camp registration fee. We would love to see everybody in the camp! However, the funds are very limited. So, starting this year, the rule for scholarship application is that you can only apply to the general camp scholarship if you talked to your parish priest regarding your particular situation and found out that the parish cannot cover your scholarship. If your parish cannot provide a scholarship, you are welcome to apply for full or partial scholarship through this website. You can apply for 20%, 50%, 80% scholarship depending on your financial situation. The scholarships granted on first come first serve basis, so apply early. Once you submit your scholarship application, please allow 2-5 business days for response. You can proceed with your campers’ registration once your scholarship is confirmed.
